Representatives
of the Pennsylvania Kinzua Pathways plan, from left, Coralee Wenzel,
Joe Colosimo and Ines Nelson accept a $10,000 grant check from the
Community Foundation of Warren County Executive Director Dr. Charles
MacKenzie, far right, during a reception Tuesday evening at the
Conewango Club of Warren.
The grant was awarded in celebration of 60 years of philanthropy
by the Community Foundation of Warren County, which held an online
voting competition to determine the winner. Colosimo said the money
will be used to develop a website that will market the plan and
promote the region.
PKP is a community oriented set of projects focused around enhancing
the Allegheny Reservoir area. Its main objectives are to increase
historical awareness and provide connectivity among the sites. To
date, during the "awareness" phase of the project we have
conducted over 60 meetings with organizations, governmental agencies,
and other potential stake-holders.
As we move into the next phase, we have identified the need to carry
our focus on communication and collaboration to the internet with
a fully interactive web site that will serve as a virtual hub, through
which the current resources can be promoted to attract visitors
to the area, and parallel to that, PKP progress can be tracked,
and other internal communications can be shared.
